The 1st Marichelle Simbra Production Sale for Marius & Michelle Potgieter at N’Dimba, Komga proved to be a roaring success yesterday.
50 buyers from throughout the country registered in blustery weather conditions where bidding was keen from the get go.
Prices on the 20 bulls and 59 heifers exceeded all expectations on a 100% sale.
The top priced bull was lot 4, MP 21212, a beautifully balanced bull with an exceptional pedigree which was purchased by Flip Vermaak from Kleinemonde EC for R250 000.
More excitement was to follow with lot 5 selling for R120 000, lot 6 for R150 000 and then lot 7, MP 22102C , an early maturing easy fleshing bull which sold to Eugene Marais from Elliott for R240 000.
The females, both pregnant & open were in big demand where Pieter Louw from Middelfontein in the Free State was the bulk buyer.
