Sale Report:
The 8th Alphaeton Bonsmara sale was held on Friday 11 October 2013. 24 Bulls came under the hammer of Auctioneer Brandon Leer. The quality of the bulls this year was once again very good. The top price of R40000 was paid for lot 7 by Pyp Lombard of Adelaide. The bulls averaged R237661.90, with three bulls getting no bids.
The females sold well, with a group of pregnant cows selling for R7800.00 and a group of 4 pregnant heifers selling for R8200. 55 open heifers were also on sale with the average price being R4754.54 and achieving a top price of R5400.00
The Boergoat Rams fetched excelent prices with the top priced ram bought for R10200 by Carl Miles of Dordrecht. The Boergoat Rams averaged R5340.00 and the 8 Savannah Rams averaged R3712.50. 94 Boergoat ewes were also sold for an average of R1269.46, 10 Savannah ewes averaged R1000.00 and 40 Boergoat Kapaters fetched R977.50 on average
