Sale Report 2014
The 28th Brakfontein Bull sale of John & JJ Park was held in the Bedford District on Tuesday 2 September. On a beautiful spring day buyers flocked in from throughout the Eastern Cape and Natal to bid on an outstanding offering of Bonsmara, Hereford and Braford type bulls. Bidding was keen from the outset and a 100% sale was achieved on the 18 Bonsmara, 17 Hereford and 9 Braford type bulls. Guest sellers Lochart & Hugh Ainslie and Piet Venter of Van Rooyen Trust had a solid sale of pregnant females in a market which just not to follow the upward trend of slaughter stock and weaners.
Gideon & Jack Jordaan were the buyers of the top priced Bonsmara bull, Lot 15 for R58000. The top price achieved for a Hereford was R49000. The buyer for this bull, Lot 39 was Ainslie Farming of Bedford. The Braford type bulls were also in demand and Lot 3 was bought by Piet Venter of Van Rooyen Trust fro R41000
