You are currently viewing Grahamstown Sale 04 July

The Grahamstown monthly auction was held in very cold and unpleasant weather conditions on Thursday 4 July. The market definitely showed encouraging signs with quality calves selling for R16/kg, fat cows for over R13/kg and store cows hitting R10/kg after a dip from the last month. Small-stock sold well and lambs reached R20/kg and B + C grade sheep sold exceptionally well for R17-R20/kg. Boergoats were also in high demand and Mr Clive Jackson Moss of Riebeck East had a wonderful dispersal sale of his flock

The offering was very mixed and the quality very average – typical of a winter sale.

The new scale which has been fitted worked well, saving much time as the old one had become very slow.
